Baby Girl Nursery

After three little bears I was finally getting my Goldilocks. Last November I brought home a baby girl. I cross my heart have never had a preference on gender. I’m just going for the 10 fingers and 10 toes kind of thing. Three boys is brilliant and although I often admired cute little pony tails and the girls’ clothes section in every store that’s three-times as big and more colorful and fun, I would have sworn to you I didn’t care about having a girl… until I found out I got one. When I had my 20 week prenatal ultrasound the technician said, “Okay this is a great view of the gender.” I strained my gaze on the screen to figure it out and just kept mumbling, “I just can’t see it, I can’t see it….” Finally she said, “It is not there, you’re having a girl!” I literally gasped and burst into crazy tears! It was one of my few life take-my-breath-away moments. This crazy primal thing took over and I wept for joy for almost three days.

Being so super lucky to have a healthy child I could concentrate on other things, like a nursery. And the pressure was on! I will split this post into a few categories:

  • Walls, Stripes!
  • Crib
  • Décor
  • Color

For me, it just had to be pink! I love awesome nurseries that are more daring than I, but for my only girl, it was pink and pink and more pink. At least when she is a little baby. Here are a few beautiful nurseries that I love. My favorite is the classic look with modern touches like these from Bower Power, Honey & Fitz and blogmybigeyekids.com and :

When she is a little older I am going to make her room a little more fun, I am loving these by Project Nursery and Creamy Life:

Next week I will post on the nursery, I hope there is something useful in the posts!

Happy Creating!
