I love this project! And I am happy to check off another something off my 2014 project list. My pantry has been a very unhappy host of garbage and recycling cans. What I really need is a pull out garbage can. They were always in the way and stinky. Boo. There really was no reason for this because the kitchen has an decent amount of cupboards and when we first moved in we just started shoving stuff into cupboards, not knowing where to put anything. So I ended up with an disorganized … [Read more...]

Paint Makes Me Happy
Yesterday was a great day. I spent a long time in the Sherwin-Williams paint store. That place is eye candy. I even scored one of these babies: I had a paint fan once upon a glorious time, but I loaned it out and never got it back. Last night I woke up with something hard and uncomfortable under my back. Yep, it was the paint fan. I slept with it. It was at that moment somewhere around 2 am that I realized how much I truly adore paint. I do have a lot of paint projects planned this … [Read more...]
Old Chair + Easy Redo = Happy
My grandmother used to say, "people that say money can't buy happiness don't know where to shop." Well, I say people that say money can't buy happiness don't know what color of spray paint to buy. My kids officially call this the "happy chair". Is it a display piece? Nope. Is it my favorite chair in the world? Uh uh. Does it match the rest of the house? Not really. But, does it make me happy? Totally! It has been a cold, cold, winter. Even for my desert town. We had the biggest snow storm … [Read more...]
Fun Kids Woodworking Project
It seems like often my projects get done after my kids' projects do! My kids recently entered the National Reflections competition. I wouldn't call any of us (including me) artistic. So, when my six year old was crazy animated about entering an art competition, inside I cringed a little. But of course I'm always up for a project, if he played by my rules. First, is it must be done by the child (I am against helping them too much!) Second, make it something you love. Well, for my son, he loves to … [Read more...]
Bamboo Frame with Star Crossed Frames
This new year has been crazy! And the flu hasn't helped move projects along at all... I finally completed a project on my 2014 list. My master bedroom needs a complete overhaul. I am embarrassed to even show the before picture! I actually scored the bedspread from my mom's good will pile in her garage... it's amazing what you can find in there: I added some cool lamps from Pottery Barn, sewed some envelope chevron pillows with left over fabric, and scored a $18 bedspread on Black Friday. … [Read more...]

And I have always loved their paint, my house is head to toe their paint, including ceiling, doors, everything. Happy Friday and Happy Creating! … [Read more...]
Happy New Year… 50 Home Projects for 2014!
AP Photo/Alastair Grant It feels so great to start a new year! Some years I look back and think good riddens, other years it seems like I wish time would freeze and nothing would change. I think 2013 was a mix of both... So, looking forward to 2014, and after taking some time off from blogging, I have made a list of projects I would like to complete in the upcoming year. I am excited that Sherwin-Williams will be sponsoring some projects and that I have so many great things to work on this … [Read more...]
