Board and Batten Update

About a week ago I started the first of many fun projects in my son’s room, board and batten. I am on a bit of a time crunch because my sister is taking a trip to Mexico on Friday and guess who gets her kiddos? Yep, me! My boys are head-over-heals-excited and I am looking forward to all the good cousin times to come… but it also means I have TWO days to finish the walls. I have all the boards on the wall:

But I am currently debating whether or not I want to put another horizontal row on the walls. I know it’s hard to image what it will look like painted white and finished, but what do you think?

Leave it alone, or add a second horizontal row??? I only have a few hours to decide because when the troops are finally snoozing tonight I have to finish this. I think all the easy stuff is done. There will be a full tutorial to come, but I love building stuff with wood, so it’s pretty much been a party. Left on the list is to caulk every edge and connection, prime everything, then paint. I like painting too, but it will take a while.

I think this will look amazing finished. The clock is ticking…

I like the second row! I know it’s more work, but I think it adds even more pizazz!!! BTW, you totally inspired me and I painted a wall in my laundry room, all by myself without hubby! I know it’s pretty minor in terms of home diy, but not for me. Good luck! Can’t wait to see the finished product! xooxxo

Oh dear, Tim says skip the second row. So now we’ve cancelled each other’s vote out. He says he likes just the top because it then looks like a wainscoting with a cap moulding on top (judges’ panel). Adding the second board doesn’t suggest something that people are familiar with, so he votes no. Guess you’ll have to wait for more votes to come in to sway you to one side or the other!

I skipped it. Thanks for the input though… I wish I could decorate as well as you guys do!
